Andreas Schwall, Eco Furniture’s founder, has been designing and building furniture for over 20 years. Andreas learned his trade in Germany, where he trained for 3 years using hand tools alone, then further honed his craft through years of designing and building custom cabinetry and furniture for a variety of high-profile clients.

Andreas and his wife moved to Canada in 2001 where he continued to work, but with each passing day, he became increasingly disillusioned with the industry. In Victoria, Andreas developed a passion for sea kayaking and started customizing fiberglass kayaks, but again he was disturbed by the impact of the chemicals he was using on the environment and his own health.

After one last try at working within the standard furniture industry, Andreas finally decided the only way to be true to his own values and protect his health, and the health of the planet was to start his own business. Andreas wanted to get back to basics with a line of simple, functional furniture that would have a minimal impact on the world around him.

Today, Andreas is very proud to be able to offer his clients a wide range of custom furniture, from bed frames and tables to custom shelving and kitchens, all hand-crafted from carefully chosen environmentally responsible resources and finished without the use of toxic glues or coatings.
